I really feel bad for Gaile. I mean, she gets crap everywhere she goes, and I understand that when your job is to relate to a community like ours full of the immature insensitive types, that it's expected to happen, but still... it's downright disgraceful that she gets so much disrespect from people for absolutely no reason.

Well I think one of the deleted posts was mine. Think I mentioned something about wishing I was there when the incident happened and I implied that it was entertaining. I apologise for my lack of class. I feel that it isn't right to advocate or encourage such behaviour and it's unfortunate that Gaile had to defend herself before I realised my mistake.

Guild Wars is an amazing game, and I think the staff at Anet do a great job providing us with a subscription-free game. Thanks Gaile for putting up with all the crap that we throw at you. Everyone appreciates what you do; it's just that sometimes we get caught up in the moment and our immature side takes over. (Not that that's any excuse!) Keep up the good work. (And we do need some more of that positive vibe in this forum)

I really dont know, I have had problems in the past on GWGuru where images from external hosts (i.e. not uploaded via GWGuru) are not displayed, if anyone thinks they know what could case this then please say.

for the people who could not see the event here is a summary

· Faction will carry over but you can change if you wish
· There is personal faction and alliance faction
· Alliance factions have an interesting mechanic in order

to prevent a guild or alliance from taking over and never letting its death grip go factions degrade over time. If you take a lead and sit on it, and do not continue to maintain your edge, it will slowly dissolve.

· When the game is released RP characters start at level 1
· More storage space
· Unpleasant deaths planned for farmer bots
· 300 new skills and 30 duplicates to allow for double up, if you want.
· No word on Gwen yet, poor girl
· No one in Prophecies will have faction armour unless they also have both games.
· If you get a pet in factions, you can take it with you
· No April fools day planned! Yah right

· The pets are Crabs (2kinds) Tigers (Bengal and Siberian), Black Moa, gained from a mission, Crane and one super secret pet.
· New items from the competition will be added each week on faction’s release. Each month 4 to 5 new items added.

Sorry if I seemed in a bit of a tiff, but I confess I was sort of startled. I actually -- I swear to you -- scrolled up to look "Am I am Guru? This isn't what I usually see here, this is just plain rude!"

You guys who have posted are great, and I'm thinking the ones who engaged in the rude stuff were just having a bad day or something. Thanks for your consideration and your kind words. I like this place and I'm glad that so many of you were as dismayed as I was about what happened.

And just as I thought, Alliance Faction points degrades over time - I got plenty of spam, shouts and what not for saying that in-game.. (what's with players today?)

well what i want to know is this...

can i play through most, if not all of the game whithout choosing a Permanent faction?

(i prefer to stay neutral to be honest. i accept that some of the map would be locked to me, that is only fair, say perhaps 5% to 10% of each side, sugestion a secured Homeland area for each side ant one must be of the same faction to be allowed entry...there should also be an arena there for fighting between the same faction, classit as a training facility)

if i DO have to choose, can i perhaps go back to neutral with a fixed penalty?

(for example, i permanantly ally myself with a side, find they are not to my tastes further down the line of the game, and choose to unally from them, incuring a penalty that my personal faction with that side is ether halved *for below the 10k mark* or wiped clean *for above 2k mark* or a 10k chunk was taken away *if theres perhaps more than 30k total for each side*...so i can now go befrend the other side)

i also dont quite understand this...
apparently, if i spend faction from one group, faction for the other, opposing group goes down....fine, but....what if i never actually spend any faction from ether group?

and as to the gaile-bashing, silly, silly people....
its true, some call me a butt-kissing GM fangirl.....but theres butt-kissing, and just being polite and friendly...
i came from a game where a GM had TOTAL POWER over you and the gameworld....all they have to do is hit a button and BAM! you will never play that character anywhere again, if your char is player vault....all they have to do is ban your CDkey, your IP addy or just that character.

its only common courtesy to treat people, even on a forum, with a little respect....
i mean, its not like i know everyone is a..oh,how do i say it.....Failed their Humanity test ^^
treat them all as human, till they give you any reason to doubt it, is my motto...but then, im a BeneGeserit wannabee ^^
